Thanksgiving

So, my sister has been hassling me for weeks to update my blog and now I shall fill you all in on our Thanksgiving weekend. We went to Mesa, Arizona for Thanksgiving this year to visit Joel's family. It was a little disheartening for me considering last year I was at my dad's house in California and this year I would be in Arizona. I just wanted to be home with my family this year, but I guess there is always next year and we do get Christmas with my family. We left on Thanksgiving morning for Arizona and what could be a two hour flight ended up being almost 4 hours. We flew from Dallas Love Field to Midland, Texas where we had to wait to take off again because it was snowing. Yes, it was snowing and we had to de-ice the plane. Then we flew to Albuquerque and from Albuquerque we finally arrived in Phoenix. Abbey was surprising good on her first airplane ride and was only fussy for about 20 minutes out of the entire 4 hours. Bless her heart for making that enjoyable for her parents. By the way, airports these days make it so difficult to fly with infants. I mean come on, the formula issue just doesn't make sense to me, especially taking the baby's shoes off. Goodness what has the world come too. Anyways, back to my story, we landed and had to find my Step-dad's truck in the overflow parking lot, which we were using for the weekend, and then drive to his apartment, where he graciously let us stay. We then proceeded to Joel's parents house were Abbey was man-handled for the entire night. Everyone was so excited to see her, but she was worn out. By the end of the night, 9:00pm to be exact, she was screaming and was done. We loaded up and went back to apartment for the night. Well, it wasn't really the night considering Joel and I decided to rise at 2:00am for Black Friday. Kohl's had the one gift that I needed for my brother. So, there was Joel and I at 3:00am waiting in line, cold and tired. It was quite the interesting day. We visited many friends and family the rest of the weekend who enjoyed seeing Abbey for the first time. Abbey sure did have fun meeting all her extended family and the family that we have adopted. I am sure she learned enough Spanish to last her for awhile. Daddy still talks to her though in Spanish, plus she loves Baby Einstein in Spanish too. We left Phoenix on Monday morning bright and early with 4 suitcases this time when we only arrived with 2. Man does Abbey have a lot of stuff. Try lugging a stroller, car seat + base, diaper bag, Mommy's purse, and 4 suitcases through a secured airport. I am sure I would of loved a picture of that.

Now back at home we are finally back to a routine where Mommy and Daddy are back to work and where Abbey doesn't have to sleep in her stroller. Yes, we didn't have a bed for Abbey so she had to sleep in her stroller. Poor baby. I have to say it was very enjoyable to see Joel's family and to see their reaction to seeing Abbey for the first time. They just loved her. We hope to come back really soon and we hope everyone else enjoyed the weekend as much as we all did.

Back to Work

So, I started work again on Sunday, November, 4th. It was rather strange to be in the same atmosphere I was in majorly prego. It has changed so much. Let's just say my store will never be the same. First, I lost my manager, granted it was his choice, but it still makes me sad. Then one of my closest friends, who I have grown to love, has left as well. Of course we sill have lunch dates, but it will never be the same. I now have a new manager who is very well rounded and I am sure I will grow to love him also. He does things very different, but I still have my power and I am over the entire boys department in Kids. He is looking into a lead, but I don't think it will be me because I am not working full time anymore. I am actually ok with that because I don't want to work full with my baby Abbey at home. We will just see. I am trying to make the best of new people and chaos in my once very organized store. All in all my first day back was successful and I am happy to be making money again. That take a lot of stress out of many things. I just hope I survive the Holiday Season with the rush and the anxiety!

The Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch with Grammy, Aunt Ricci, and cousins Garrett and Aleksia. We had so much fun although it was so windy. I didn't like the wind all that much it scared me. We took so much pictures and I even got my very own pumpkin. It's little just like me. I hope that Daddy and I can carve it to look like a scary jackolantern. We also went on a hay ride. It was really bumpy, but it put me to sleep.
After the pumpkin patch we went out to lunch at Red, Hot, and Blue. It was really yummy. After lunch we went to Once Upon A Child and I got some new clothes. I really didn't need them of course, but Mommy says that they were too cute to pass up.
